The City of Love continues to prove how worthy it is of its name.

Each step gives you an instagrammable view: cafes, flower shops, doorways, and more. The city’s fairy lights seem to transform each street into a magical world that promises extraordinarily romantic things.

When mum said, “You’ll need a heavier jacket”, I grabbed one nonchalantly just to avoid an argument.

NOW, there’s nothing but gratitude and a reminder to self that mothers know best. Planning an outfit is my Achilles’ heel. I try my best but it’s just not my cup of tea. Whatever :)

The engagement session is the first step towards a journey to a love story. This is when I first meet the couple, especially those who booked online. 

I deliberately arrived early. I checked out the best spots. Every inch of Paris is a “best spot”, but every inch of Paris is also so crowded (especially on a Sunday) that it’s easy to get busy photos with a lot of distracting elements. 

When I met Laureine and Phi, it felt like meeting old friends. I instantly felt at home. I immediately felt at ease with their genuine smiles, heartfelt laughter, and their sincere friendliness. I did not feel the need to explain a lot. Neither did they ask for explanations. They made it feel like I was doing it for pleasure, not work and indeed – it was a great pleasure!

While some people think that couples are all the same, especially the engaged ones – boring, too caught up with each other, sprinkled with an overload of sweetness, Laureine and Phi broke the mold.

Not saying “boring” is necessarily a bad thing. But you know, there are couples that are just ordinary and boring while others, well, others are just goals AF *-*

If someone will ask for descriptions of this couple, “adventurous”, “passionate” and “vibrant” comes first into mind.

They both have mixed blood and they seem to get the best of each – Laureine is French-Sri Lankese while Phi is French-Vietnamese.

Together, they took their first step of their journey to forever and I captured each smile, each twinkle in their eye, each unspoken words of love as they gaze at each other’s eyes, hoping to preserve such precious moments in each shot.
